About HTS
In 1984, Nipissing Helicopters expanded its operations into the province of Quebec, with the addition of bases of operations established in Sept-Iles and Port Cartier along the St-Lawrence River. By the end of the decade, the acquisition of Huisson Aviation brought continued expansion in the form of a larger fleet of helicopters servicing ever- larger markets throughout Eastern Canada. This also led Nipissing Helicopters to formally change its name to Huisson Aviation until 1998, when the company renamed itself Helicopter Transport Services (Canada) Inc. (HTSC).

In late 1998, HTSC opened its newest base at the Toronto Buttonville Airport (just north of Toronto, Ontario). This is the home for Canada's first dedicated Electronic News Gathering (E.N.G.) helicopter. Together with CTV News, HTSC operates a Bell 206L4 that provides live coverage of news events on a 24 hour-a-day, seven-day a week basis.

Today, HTSC is one of the largest and most diverse helicopter operations in Canada, with bases located over a wide geographic area throughout the country and an assorted fleet of helicopters that range from the light R-22 to the heavy S-61N.

HTSC is also an authorized dealer and/or authorized maintenance facility for Bell Helicopters, Schweizer, Eurocopter, Robinson and MD Helicopters.
